The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) website has been updated. It now includes a child support estimator. This is based on the new Income Shares calculations. Attorneys are also able to download calculations on their phones for use in court.
You can visit www.illinois.gov/hfs/childsupport/parents/pages/childsupportestimator.aspx. The estimator has two options: One is for parents. The other is for attorneys.
The attorney version lets you input specific facts and figures to help calculate child support. There is a link in the attorneys’ version. It allows use of a QR code reader. This is to download a simplified version on a mobile phone. Great for calculations in court when information is necessary quickly.
